Installation CD
1.
Locate the CD-ROM labeled ‘Vision Net
V.I.P. Quick Installer’.
2. Make sure no programs are running on your computer, and insert CD-ROM into
your CD-Rom drive on your computer.
3.
CD-ROM should auto-run and display a blue
installation program screen over your desktop.
If your computer does not auto-run the CD-ROM,
go to ‘My Computer’ and double-click
your CD-ROM icon.
4.
Click the button at the bottom-right that
says ‘Start’. This will start
the step by step wiring and installation.
5.
Click ‘Next’.
6.
This page is a description of what the CD-ROM
will do. Click ‘Next’.
7.
This page will give you the choice of either
an ENET or USB connection
from the DSL modem to the computer.

1b -- USB Installation
8. Click the button labeled ‘Click here to qualify’. This will
run another application called ‘Qualifier’.
9.
Click ‘Next’. This will start
the qualifying process.
10.
If any of the steps fail, please leave the
screen open and contact Technical Support
(866-764-8485 option 2). If all steps were
passed successfully, click ‘Next’.
11.
Click ‘Next’.
12.
You will be taken back to the blue installation
screen once again. Please read the filter
information carefully, as it is extremely
important for your DSL’s reliability.
Click ‘Next’.
13.
Read screen, and click ‘Next’.
14.
This screen explains how to plug the DSL
modem into the phone jack in the wall, and
how to plug in your phone if it must use
the same phone jack. This install disc does
not speak about the surge protector; however,
you will need to put it between the DSL modem
and the phone jack in the wall. Please read
screen carefully, and click ‘Next’.
15.
This screen explains how to put the in-line
DSL filters on all of your telephones in
the home. Please read carefully, and click ‘Next’.
16.
This screen will instruct you on how to plug
in the USB cable between your computer and
the DSL modem. Please read these steps very
carefully. When you plug in the USB cable
to your computer, Windows will pop-up an ‘add
new hardware wizard’ window. Click ‘Next’ on
the hardware wizard window. (WinXP users,
the next 3 steps should happen automatically.)
17.
Leave the dot next to ‘Search for the
best driver for your device’. Click ‘Next’.
18.
Check the option labeled ‘CD-ROM drive’ ONLY,
then click ‘Next’.
19.
Once the wizard has found the USB drivers
on the CD-ROM, it will display it, then click ‘Next’.
20. Click ‘Finish’.
21.
You will see a blue progress bar that indicates
the loading of the drivers. When it is done,
it will display a reboot selection screen.
Choose either ‘Yes, reboot the computer
now’ or ‘No I will reboot the
computer later’, and click ‘Close’.
If you chose to reboot, it will do so, if
not, the installation will continue.
22.
This next screen displays how to plug in
the AC pwr. Adapter. Please read, and click ‘Next’.
23.
This screen shows how the lights should look
on the DSL modem, please read carefully,
and click ‘Next’.
24.
This screen has an option to install an Internet
web browser in case you need one for your
computer. Windows operating systems already
have Internet Explorer. You do NOT need to
install either of these programs. This is
completely optional. To continue, click ‘Skip’.
25.
This screen will setup email in Outlook Express.
If you do not wish to use Outlook Express
as your email program, you do NOT have to
setup your email in this program. This option
is completely optional. To continue, click ‘Skip’.
26.
This is the end of the installation, please
click ‘Finish’. This will pop-up
a window asking if you would like to restart
now or not, chose either option. The installation
will not complete until the computer is rebooted.
27.
When Windows is done rebooting, you will
see a final installation screen with a blue
progress bar. Let it finish, and it will
disappear. You are now done with the USB
installation. |
