Self-Install Instructions- Non Windows XP, USB

STEP 1c

Let’s make sure that you have everything needed (all of these things are provided in the DSL kit) for the USB install:

Ethernet Cable
Phone Cord
Modem
CD
Power Cord

DO NOT PLUG THE USB CABLE IN THE MODEM OR THE COMPUTER UNTIL INSTRUCTED OR IT WILL CAUSE BIG PROBLEMS!!!!!

1. Please place the CD in your CD-Rom drive. Double click on the icon labeled My Computer then look for the icon that looks like a little CD-Rom disk. Double click on it and look for a blue “e” with Setup written below it, and double click on it. Then just keep clicking on the NEXT button until it says FINISH, then click on the FINISH button.

2. Plug one phone cord into the phone outlet and the surge suppresser input .The other goes from the surge suppresser output to the modem .

3. Plug in the modem’s power cord here , and the other end into a wall outlet.

4. Now plug the USB cable into the modem here and to the computer here.

IMPORTANT! The modem goes through a short self-test, about 2 minutes, and then the power light (PWR), the DSL light (DSL) and the (ENET) Light should be on if the modem is hooked up properly.
