STEP 1a
Windows
XP USB Installation
If you have an operating system other than
Windows XP and wish to use USB, please use
step 1c. We
recommend that
you
use
Ethernet
if it
is available to you, which is step
1b.
If you are using Windows XP and USB, please
follow the following instructions:
1.
Insert the CD labeled “SpeedStream
DSL”
2. Click on “Start”
3. Click “My Computer”
4. Click the “CD” drive
5. Double Click on Setup with the “E” icon.
6. Click “Next” to install. Then
Click “OK”
7. Plug one phone cord into the phone outlet and
the surge suppresser input The
other goes from the surge suppresser output to
the modem 
8. Next plug in the power cord for the modem
here ,
then plug it into the wall sure the power is
on (some of the lights on the front are on).
9. Now plug the USB cable into the modem
here and
to the computer here Your
computer should detect the USB device and a “Found
New Hardware Wizard” will appear automatically.
10.
Select “Install from list or specific
location” and click “Next”.
11.
Make sure that there is a check mark in “Search
for removable media (floppy, CD-ROM…)” and
click “Next”.
12. Click Finish

The “Found New Hardware Wizard” appears
again, now click “Next”.
14. You will be asked if you wish to install
the drivers even though they are not signed.
Click “Continue Anyway” then click
Finish.
