How
to setup a static IP address on a LAN connection
in Windows 2000:
1. Click on 'START'
2. Click on 'Settings'
3.
Click on 'Network and Dial-up Connections'
which will open a new window.
 4. Right-click the 'Local Area Connection'
and left-click 'properties' this will open
up a new window.
 5. in the box below 'Components checked are
used by this connection:'Double-click on 'Internet
Protocol [TCP/IP]' this will open up a new
window.

6. In this window, select 'Use the following
IP address:' so that it has a dot to the
left of it. 7. This is where you will enter the static
IP and DNS information obtained from Smithville
Digital.
8. After you have completed this, simply click
'OK' out of these screens, and you are done!
