Dial
up setup on a Windows ME operating system
1. Click on the “Start” button
2. Click “Programs”
3. Click “Accessories”
4. Click “Communications”
5. Click “Internet Connection Wizard”
6. You are going to choose the last option, “I
want to set up my Internet connection manually,
or I want to connect through a local area network
(LAN)”

Here you will choose the 1st option, “I
connect through a phone line and a modem”  8.
Now type the dial up number that was given
to you by Smithville/Bluemarble (no area code).
You should NOT have a checkmark in “dial
up using the country code and area code”  9. Now enter your username and password.
· Make sure that your username is in all lower-case
letters with no spaces
· Make sure that your password is entered with
correct capitalization

Here you are going to name your new dial
up connection. You can type whatever you
want
into this box, some good suggestions would
be “Bluemarble”, “My Internet”,
or “Dial up Connection”  11a.
If you will be using Outlook Express for
your email program, please select “Yes” and
click “next” (please see our help
topics for information on setting up Outlook
Express) 11b.
If you will be using another mail program,
please select “No” and click “next,” then
follow the on-screen directions to finish the
wizard.
