RedHat PPP Dialer Connectivity Set-up

Step 1: Dialup Configuration Tool

1. To configure PPP in RedHat, first open your Start bar and select the folder named Internet.

2. Once inside the folder, click on the program named Dialup Configuration Tool.

Add New Internet Connection:

5. You will now see a window named Add New Internet Connection.

6. Click the Next button to proceed.

Phone Number and Name:

7. A new screen will appear named Phone Number and Name.

8. For Account name enter BlueMarble.

9. In the Phone number box, enter the telephone number that you want to dial-in to. This number can be found on the Start Here sheet you received from BlueMarble.
10. Click Next.

If you cannot find your dial-up telephone number on your Start Here sheet, please select the appropriate number from the following chart:

User Name and Password:

11. Next, you will see the User name and password window.

12. Enter your user name.

13. Enter your password. This information can be found on the Start Here sheet you received from BlueMarble.

14. Click the Next button.

Other Options:

15. A new screen named Other options will appear.

16. Leave the default setting as Normal ISP and click the Next button.

Create the Account:

17. A new screen will appear named Create the account.

18. Click the Finish button to create the account.

Step 2: Entering DNS numbers for your account

19. Click on your Start button and go to the folder named Internet.

20. Select the program named Dialup Configuration Tool

21. This will then open up the Internet Connections window.

22. The Internet Connections window should have the account that your created present.

23. Click on the Edit button to edit this account.

24. The Edit Internet Connection window will appear.

25. Click on the Advanced tab.

26. Now enter the DNS numbers. In every location the DNS numbers are the following:

27. Click the Apply button and click Close.

28. Your dial-up connection is now configured correctly.

Step 3:Connecting with RH PPP Dialer

29. Open your Start bar and go to the folder named Internet.

30. Select the program named RH PPP Dialer.

31. This will initialize the PPP dialer, which will connect you to BlueMarble.
