DSL Setup Documents -- Cisco Router

Note: The Cisco 678 is configured as a bridge and is a single port device that connects to your computer via an Ethernet cable. If you want the Cisco 678 configured as a router, you will need to upgrade your DSL service to Business Class

STEP ONE: Verify Contents

1) Box should contain: Cisco 678 ADSL router, Quick Start for the Cisco 678 ADSL Router, Cisco 678 ADSL Router Installation and Operation Guide, Cisco Broadband Operating System User Guide, Power supply, telephone cable, and Ethernet cable. If you are missing any of these items, call toll free 866-764-8485 prompt 1.

2) Take the telephone micro-filters and install them on your telephones. The in-line filters are plugged into the telephone jack, and the telephone is plugged into the micro-filter. The wall telephone micro-filter is installed by removing the telephone from the existing modular wall jack by pushing the telephone in an upward direction until it is freed from the wall jack. The wall micro-filter is then installed on the existing wall jack and the telephone is replaced on the micro-filter.

3) Plug the telephone cable into the router and the telephone jack.
4) Plug the power supply into the router and the wall outlet.
